Palm oil has been shown effective in maintaining desirable plasma cholesterol and lipoprotein cholesterol levels. In studies the exchange of olive oil with palm oil resulted in similar cholesterol levels. Palm oil is pressed from the flesh of the palm fruit, not the kernel. This oil is processed by fractionation which separates the solid fat. This oil contains NO transfatty-acids and is stable when heated.
