    Barley Flakes

    Barley is by its nature wheat-free. Cereal products are naturally high in energy. These barley flakes are made from whole grain barley kernels. They can be used as an alternative to rolled oats.

     

    Suggested use: Barley flakes can be added to muesli or used in baking. For a delicious porridge: Add 1 cup barley flakes to 3 cups boiling water, reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Suggestion: Serve with honey, milk and chopped nuts.

    Brown Short-Grain Rice

    This cereal product is by its nature gluten-free. Cereal products are naturally high in energy. This nutty-flavoured rice is soft and sticky once cooked. It is ideal for making risotto.

     

    Suggested use: Bring 1 cup of rice to the boil with 2 cups water and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat and simmer covered for approximately 35 minutes. Makes 4-6 servings.
