Terra Nova Hyaluronic Acid Complex is a nutritional supplement containing hyaluronic acid for the health of the joints, skin and eyes. Hyaluronic acid is a hydrophilic molecule, which has the capacity to absorb water’s weight many times, and is a natural hydrating agent for the body. It contains a high molecular weight polysaccharide, glucosaminoglycan, which is an essential component of connective tissue.

Hyaluronic acid in the skin accounts for 50% of the body and is found in the basal layer between keratinocytes and collagen. It has the capacity to maintain the elasticity and firmness of the skin while at the same time enhancing the production of collagen and elastin.

In the joints hyaluronic acid is the main component of synovial fluid, articular cartilage and synovial membrane.
