Ash & Mill’s nourishing body butter is formulated to melt at your skin’s temperature. Containing nourishing shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, baobab oil, vitamin E and essential oils, this body butter absorbs quickly leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

This whipped body butter contains no water. Distinct from lotions, which are an emulsion of oils, emulsifiers and water, Ash & Mill’s luxurious body butter is a potent source of rich oils and butters that are readily absorbed to lock in moisture, soothing dry skin.

Ingredients: Vitellaria paradoxa (shea) butter,  Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, Adansonia digitata (baobab) oil, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), Manihot esculenta (tapioca) starch and essential oils.

Unlike many hand and body washes which use detergents and cannot be called soap, Ash & Mill pure castile soap is 100% free of sulfate and ammonium detergents. It is formulated to be gentle on the skin, foams amazingly well, and is wonderfully fragrant.

One of the two two-tone collections available from Ash & Mill, activated charcoal collection is visually striking with each soap having an activated charcoal half. The activated charcoal is paired with rooibos, green clay and red clay in this collection. The fragrance profiles of the soaps feature cedarwood, citrus oils like bergamot, pititgrain and pink grapefruit, and the bright and fresh scents like eucalyptus and tea tree oil

NATURALLY FRAGRANCED

Ash & Mill cold-processed soaps are naturally fragranced and are scented with essential oils. No artificial fragrances are used.

COLD-PROCESSED – RICH IN GLYCERINE

Our soaps are also rich in glycerine, a natural humectant, which contributes to the moisturizing properties of our soaps.  By keeping the temperature low during the saponification process, the glycerin that is liberated as the fatty acid ester bonds of our triglyceride oils are cleaved is not lost, and remains in the soap bar. By contrast, when soap is made via  a hot-process, this moisturizing molecule separates out from the fatty acid salts (soap) and is not retained.

FREE OF ARTIFICIAL DYES AND PIGMENTS

The beautiful colours and appearance of our soaps are achieved using natural ingredients like clays, ground fynbos particles and activated charcoal. We have endeavored to avoid the use of synthetic dyes and pigments.

In the Ash & Mill rooibos collection each bar is made using rooibos from the Western Cape.. The three-pack gives you a variety in exfoliating, with some of the bars featuring rooibos powder. Rooibos is also paired with activated charcoal and turmeric in this collection. The scents of the soaps in this collection are highly varied and anything but boring, featuring pairings of fresh scented black pepper with lime or cedarwood and patchouli, and floral rose geranium with lavender.
