Sfera Marine collagen is sourced from organic aquaculture and sustainable sources (tilapia scales). It does not contain any allergen ingredients like crustacean shellfish.
There are at least 16 different types of collagens, but 80 to 90 percent of them belong to types 1, 2, and 3. These different types have different structures and functions. Marine collagen provides mainly type 1. Type 1 collagen form the structural and mechanical matrix of bone, skin, tendons, cornea, blood vessel walls and other connective tissues.
Hydrolysed collagen is collagen that has been broken down into smaller units of protein (or collagen peptides) through a process called hydrolysis.
