Indian Black Salt

Indian Black Salt is a mineral salt from the volcanic rock with a distinctive sulphur smell and umami taste. Traditionally Black Salt is made by heating up the rock salt in a furnace together with charcoal and selected herbs and spices resulting in a transformed salt that has a smoky pungent taste. Indian Black Salt has been used by Ayurveda practitioners for its benefits for treating flatulence, heartburn, constipation, and high blood pressure. It is also a very popular spice in traditional South Asian cuisine.
