Sally-Ann Creed® Erythritol comes in a granular form. It is virtually non-caloric and is a great regular sugar substitute. Erythritol can be found naturally in some fruits as well as fermented foods such as miso and soy sauce. Erythritol is a type of sugar alcohol known as a polyol. Sugar alcohols have a structural chemistry that partly resembles sugar and partly resembles alcohol, however they are neither sugars nor alcohols. They are a form of low digestible carbohydrate, but not sugar.  These unique sweeteners taste just like sugar, however come with a number of special advantages namely, they do not spike your insulin levels, making them an ideal sugar replacement for diabetics, and they are not converted to acids in the mouth meaning they do not promote tooth decay, such as regular sugar.
