100g Xanthan gum is a natural thickening ingredient used predominantly in food application as well as cosmetics. The process in which this ingredient is made, is through the natural fermentation of sugar by a bacteria called Xanthomonas campestris. The end result does not contain this bacteria, but rather produces a microbial polysaccharide, which can then be used to thicken and stabilise food items – similar results to that of the effects of gelatine. Our Sally-Ann Creed® Xanthan Gum is 100% xanthan gum, suitable for vegans and is a great alternative thickener option for soups, stews and even smoothies and puddings. Gluten-Free and Low Carb. Natural replacement for gluten. Superb addition to gluten-free baking of any sort to act as a binder.  Very little is needed.
